It was fun finding familiar faces on the shelves in far away places!

Home from Hawaii & Guam!

I got home a couple of days ago from a two-week trip to Hawaii and Guam and I'm still struggling with jet-lag. But it was worth it! I got to see the lovely island of Oahu for the very first time and stroll along Waikiki Beach. We drove all around the island (in one day) marvel ling at the differences between the east and the west coasts. I love the sandy beaches and beautiful waves on the east, but I fell in love with the tropical splendor of the west coast where the filmed parts of Jurassic Park, Pearl Harbor and 50 First Dates. It was beautiful and lush just like in the movies, only better!

Waikiki Beach was filled with beautiful people and die-hard surfers. My hubby and I walked along the beach at 5:30 in the morning and there were surfers out catching waves even at that early hour. And you'd see them surfing until the last light of day faded. Amazing!

After Hawaii, we headed to Guam to visit my oldest daughter, her husband and my grandson. The visit was too short. My daughter looked great and my grandson is a precocious three-year-old full of big words like Gi-normous and Awesome! It was fun and we managed to do a little snorkeling. The Japanese come to Guam like we go to Hawaii for vacation so there is a big Japanese influence there with lots of signs printed in English and Japanese.

My father and mother accompanied us on the trip. My father was stationed at Guam when he was in the Air Force some 35 years ago. He didn't recognize much but it was still fun for him to bring my mother and show her where he worked when he was here on an unaccompanied tour.

All in all, it was a wonderful trip. The trip back from Guam took us close to 23 hours. Very trying on all of us, especially my parents. But we were all glad we went and glad we're home!

I came back with some good ideas I hope to incorporate in books over the next year or so!

New York with Friends!

I had such a good visit to New York last weekend, I had to share. My sister Delilah Devlin and I flew to New York City for the Novelists Inc conference in Manhattan. There we met up with fellow Allure Authors, Sasha White and Sylvia Day. I got to know other others like Jordan Summers, Megan Hart and Susan Lyons. It was a great time and I'm so glad I went.

Sylvia Day, Delilah and I took in a show called Curtains. I hadn't heard of it until someone recommended it, but I'm glad we went. David Hyde Pierce starred in it and it was funny, musical and a total hoot! The best part was going with friends. Sasha, Delilah and I walked to Time Square for a hot dog and cheese cake at Juniors. We shopped a little, talked a lot and had fun.

Delilah and I made the rounds of visiting our editors, stopping in at Avon, Kensington and Harlequin. It's great to see where the editors actually work and the piles of manuscripts they have in their offices.



All in all it was a great trip! Next on is in Pittsburgh for Romantic Times Booklovers Convention!

Fit to Be Tied - March 19th!

I was shocked and saddened to learn one of my favorite young actors died yesterday. I came to love Heath Ledger in the movie 10 Things I hate About You, a remake of the The Taming of the Shrew. I also loved him in A Knights Tale. He was a talented and sexy man whose life ended way too soon. He will be missed.

Cowboys need Love too! Hubba! Hubba!

I just finished a cowboy story for Ellora's Cave and thought I'd share a cowboy with you. Talk about inspiration! The story I finished is a novella set in the late 1800's, but I have a cowboy story out now called Deep Down Under with the Wild Rose Press. The cowboy in Deep Down Under could be just like this guy only he's located in the Australian Outback. Where else in the world do you find cowboys like this?

My sister, Delilah, has her resolutions up so I thought I'd better get mine out there! Here goes my 2007 wish list (I mean goals):

#9 Learn more about website optimization and sales online
#10 Add one more course to Rose's Colored Glasses online list

Back from New Zealand and Australia!

There's no place like home! I love going other places, because it makes me appreciate my own home and my own bed! I'm back from 3 weeks touring the Land Down Under and the Kiwi capitol of the world. Both countries were wonderful and the people terrific! Driving on the other side of the road was crazy, but we managed, although I don't recommend learning to drive on the other side of the road in downtown Sydney. Auckland, maybe. Sydney? Uh, no. Let's see, I had wonderful fun in the sun at a beautifual coastal town of Coolangatta in Queensland Australia and lovely look at Sydney by train, ferry and bus and two weeks by car on the North and South Islands of New Zealand. We went whale watching (I got seasick), touched a glacier and saw a real live Kiwi (the bird, not just the people). It was fun and I met with Shelley Munro and Jean Drew, Kiwis and fellow authors. But now, back to work! I'm going to try to get a Naughty Nuptial written by the end of the month between two books I have to revise and edit. Ack! I'll load pics when I can navigate through the changes Blogger has made with Google!

New Zealand and my book is out!

Hi all! I'm in New Zealand and having serious withdrawals from internet access. We've been on the road nearly every day trying to see as much of this beautiful country as possible. Would love to have had full access to internet the entire time, alas, I haven't! I just went out to the Ellora's Cave site and there it was! WITCH'S CURSE is out! Yay! I loved this story and hope to spin off others from it. I love the setting in Hell's Kitchen NYC and the Angel of Death is to die for (yes the pun was intended). Hope you all love it. I'm on NZ South Island today and tomorrow we will be in Wellington on the North Island for New Year's Eve. Won't be home until Jan 6th. Have a helluva Happy New Year! I'll post pics later!

Australia & New Zealand & Witch's Curse!

I leave for Australia tomorrow. My husband, daughter and I will be a week in Australia and 2 weeks in New Zealand over the Christmas and New Years timeframe. I'll drop in when I can to fill you in on my wonderful trip! And don't forget Witch's Curse comes out on Dec 29th. It's a great read to bring in the New Year! Check it out!

Controversial Wild Wild Women of the West Cover
