Flashback: Sex Lies & Vampire Hunters

Night shift emergency room nurse, Julie Taylor is on the verge of a great love affair and steamy sex after a really long dry spell. Her soon-to-be lover, Roger, is everything a girl could wish for. Tough cop, sexy as hell man and really nice guy, he’s her dream come true. But with both of them working wacky shifts, they never find time to be together and her long dry spell is only getting longer. Just when they schedule a night off together, the unthinkable happens. Julie is attacked by a vampire and turned into one of the living dead. With her life over, she’s still unwilling to end her sex life. But how do you tell your boyfriend you’re dead and one of the bad guys he’s sworn to destroy?

Roger Decker dared to love again after his lying, cheating ex-wife fooled around on him left him for another guy. The incredibly honest, sweet and sexy Julie is the only woman who’s been able to sneak beneath his armor and resuscitate his heart. Now, when he finally has the time off to tell her how he feels, weird things happen. Strange creatures appear in the night, targeting his newfound love. Does his sweet and loveable Julie have a dark side? Is she like every other woman and lying to him? And why does she totally avoid him during the daytime?

Julie slipped out into the hallway and turned toward the nurses station for her next assignment. Before she could take two steps, her friend Kim snagged her by the elbow and marched her toward the supply closet. “What? Where are you taking me?”

“Shut up. You’ll thank me later.” Kim opened the closet door and shoved her inside, closing the door behind her.

The closet was dark and filled with the acrid scent of disinfectant floor cleaners and old mops. Julie fumbled in the dark for the doorknob. When she found it, she twisted the handle and pulled. It didn’t budge. “What’s the deal?”

“I’m the deal.” A low sexy voice breathed against the back of her neck.

Her muscles bunched and then relaxed when she realized who was behind her. With a sigh, she leaned back against a solid chest, inhaling the scent of musky cologne and male.

Roger. The man of her dreams. The man destined to stay in her dreams. Other than the stolen kisses in the emergency room hallway, she’d done little else but fantasize about this man. How she’d love to do a lot more.

His breath stirred the hairs that had fallen loose from the neat ponytail she’d started the night with. Arms circled around her middle, rising beneath her breasts.

“Pervert,” she whispered and pressed her bottom against the hard ridge behind his uniform trousers. While his hands slipped beneath her scrub shirt and lacy bra, she reached around behind her to cup his ass. God, how she wanted him. “You’re going to get me fired.”

“Then we’ll have time to do more of this.” His tongue curled around her earlobe and he sucked it into his mouth, nibbling gently with his teeth.

“Um, perhaps I could live on sex alone?” She turned in his arms. “Who needs food or a roof over my head, when I can have all this?”

“Now you’re thinking.”

“Yeah, but it’s time to quit thinking and start...” she pressed her lips to his, cutting off further conversation. Her time was short. She’d better make good use of it.

He pushed her bra up over her breasts and tweaked her nipples between his thumb and forefingers. Pressing his cheek against her hair, he inhaled. “You smell like heaven.”

She laughed. “How can you smell anything over the disinfectant and dirty mops?”

“I can, when I'm this close.” He nudged a knee between her legs, rubbing his thigh against her cunt.

When his leg touched her there, all the air whooshed out of her lungs and she clung to him.

A hand rose to cup her face in the darkness, his lips descending to claim hers in a long scorching kiss. While his tongue toyed and dueled with hers, blunt-tipped fingers slid once more beneath her shirt.

She tugged the buttons open on his uniform to comb her fingers through his chest hairs, except a cotton t-shirt stood in the way. Julie plucked at it. “You have too many clothes on.” Short of pulling his shirt and t-shirt from his waistband she had to content herself with sliding her fingers between his uniform and the t-shirt. When she found the hard little knots of his nipples beneath the soft cotton, she tweaked.

The hard ridge of his cock rocked against her belly. “Your clothes are much more accessible to play.” He pushed his hands beneath the elastic waistband of her scrubs and burrowed into the silky bikini underwear to the furry mound at the juncture of her thighs.

“I can't believe we're doing this in a janitor's closet.” Despite her words, her legs spread to give him more maneuvering room.

“I'd rather have you in my bed.” With his index finger, he parted the thick folds and stroked the cleft between.

Julie moaned, her back arching, pressing her into his hand. “What if someone comes?” she gasped.

“What if you come?” He paused, his fingers cupping her sex lightly. “Do you want me to stop?”

“Are you kidding?” She grabbed his arm and pushed him deeper. “If you stop now, I'll die.”

Sunday Report Card

This past week was a combination of vacation in Colorado snow skiing and getting some edits done.I skiied two days, got peely skin from wind and sun burn, but I'm happy to say I edited a full novel I hope to publish straight to Kindle, I did the first round of copy edits for the latest novella in my Bound and Tied Series: River Bound, and I did copy edits on my newest novella SEX ED. That was all in Colorado and on the trip home! Saturday and Sunday I spent getting the Roses Colored Glasses Quarterly Newsletter up and running, updated my Myla Jackson website, updated an artist's website, made 3 book covers for upcoming books that will go straight to Kindle and studied the how-to's of formatting and submitting to Kindle. A very busy weekend and no new pages.

That's what I have on my plate for this week along with a visit to Shreveport, LA for the NOLA Written in the Stars Conference. Yippee! I have pages to complete before I can go. Wish me luck!

Vacation in Colorado

On my 5th day of vacation  in Winterpark, Colorado. The sun has shone everyday, the mountain is a vision in white, I completed revisions on two works and I'm working on revisions of another. I spent my first couple days working, staring out at the ski slopes. These last couple days I'm skiing! Woot! I've discovered this is the best time of the year to go skiing. The lines at the lifts are short, the slopes aren't crowded and I can take the entire width traversing and turning. Yay! I don't know why we always insisted on going at Christmas and Spring Break. Oh yeah...kids were in school any other time. This is a first for my husband and me since our first ski trip 20 years ago. It's sad to see your kids grow up and leave, but there are benefits!

Would love to hear from you about your favorite winter vacations.
